Russian university completes clinical trials of COVID-19 vaccine



Russia has reportedly completed the clinical trials of a coronavirus vaccine on volunteers at Sechenov University and found those effective, reports news agency Tass.
Chief researcher Elena Smolyarchuk said "the research has been completed and it proved that the vaccine is safe. The volunteers will be discharged on 15 and 20 July."


She is head of the Center for Clinical Research on Medications at Sechenov University.
She also said they will monitor the volunteers on an out-patient basis after releasing them.
The first stage of research on the vaccine at Sechenov University kicked off on 18 June when a group of 18 volunteers were vaccinated.
The second group of 20 volunteers were vaccinated on 23 June.
